For every one child in foster care, 85+ children are being raised by their Grandparents with no help from any government agency.
Several years ago, GAP realized that so many Grandparents and kinship caregivers weren’t able to provide Christmas for the children in their care. In 2021, Christmas for Kin began, supporting 221 Grandfamilies with Christmas in the first year thanks to a generous community donor. Since then, we have been able to support even more! In 2022, we supported 120 children from 55 families and in 2023, nearly 200. In 2024, we supported 288 and in 2025, we served 328 children!
We are hoping to provide Christmas for
400+ children in 2026.
We need your help. With our Grandparents, most live on just Social Security, which leaves them below the poverty level. Christmas presents are a luxury that is out of reach for most of the Grandparents. That shouldn’t be the case. Will you partner with us to reach 400 children this year?
These children range from newborns to 18 years old. Just head to our Christmas for Kin Facebook page, choose a child’s list, and go shopping! While you don’t have to purchase each single item on the list (some kids are dreaming of multiple gaming systems), we do ask that you try to only stick to items asked for.
Adopt a child or family, donate gift cards or cash…follow your heart. These children deserve to have a wonderful Christmas morning.
